Being risen with Christ means experiencing a profound spiritual transformation where believers die to their old life and receive new life in Him. This new identity requires focusing on heavenly things rather than earthly matters, pursuing deeper knowledge of Christ, and developing virtues like kindness and humility. Victory over sin comes through starving fleshly appetites, filling life with godly pursuits, and remembering our new identity in Christ. This transformation calls for both removing negative influences and strengthening positive spiritual practices.
